Michael Willans Completes Yorkshire Warrior Race For Charity
Michael Willans, a senior property manager at Scanlans’ Leeds office, raised £1,000 for charity when he took part in the gruelling Yorkshire Warrior obstacle race.
The course features obstacles such as hills, bogs, river and lake crossings, slides, barbed wire and electric fencing.
Michael took part with close friends Simon Roberts, the owner of R&W Lettings, which has offices in Harrogate and Leeds, and graphic designer Steve Newton.
The trio, who completed the 10km race in 1hr 40mins, were raising money for The PPR Foundation, which funds research into brain tumours.
It was established in 2009 by Simon’s mother Pamela following the death of his father Peter from a brain tumour.
Michael said: “We had a great time during the Yorkshire Warrior event and were blessed with good weather.
“Despite the aches and pains, we are now planning to take part in the Great North Run next year to raise more money for this very worthwhile cause.”
