WHAT IS BLOCK MANAGEMENT?

Block management goes by many different names in the industry; leasehold management, property management, service charge management, and estate management are just a few. It’s the process of managing the communal areas in residential properties through a service charge. Management companies will provide a range of services to keep the property looking good whilst ensuring the health & safety of the occupiers and visitors.

Block management requires constant communication. Managing agents deal with numerous contractors, from repairs, heating, lifts, lighting, and gardening. Block management involves the consistent coordination of these areas to ensure your block keeps running smoothly.

Proud RICS & ARMA Members

The leasehold sector is currently unregulated which means anyone can set up as a managing agent and start charging for their services without any qualifications or experience.

As members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) we hold ourselves to the highest service levels in the industry. ARMA-Q has a set of professional standards that we meet, so you can rest assured knowing consumer protection and best practice in all areas of residential property management is at our core.

Because of this, we can tap into a high level of support and regulation. Scanlan’s Property Management prides itself on complete compliance with current legislation and abide by the strict code of professional conduct of practice issued by the RICS.

Testimonials

Julie Waters

We have used Scanlans services since 2007 and can highly recommend them. I am one of the directors at Manor Court in Sharston and Anna Knowles our property manager is fantastic. She is always responsive and any issues are dealt with quickly and professionally. I can honestly say that you couldn’t get a better property management company!

Simon B

The budgeting was clear and precise. Guidance and assistance in regards to meeting our management requirements was superb, our fund was managed well and spent wisely – after several years the estate looked great and we had plenty in our reserves where as other estates near by (which weren’t managed as well by management company or whose volunteer directors were allowed to run wild with their spending) looked terrible in comparison. We managed to maintain service charges at a set price for over 5 years including through the back of the credit crunch and periods of higher utility costs which was pretty much unheard of.

I live a busy life, thus it’s a relief to have Scanlans ensuring myself and other residents are safe, and that my property is safe. Their expertise and assistance is always available and I’ve been impressed by their competency during difficult periods that come with block apartments and shared grounds. In particular, Faatima Kawri is the property manager for where I live and took on my residential block during a very difficult period with various challenges to do deal with. Even during the difficult periods she excelled in providing efficient assistance for general matters such as financial queries, neighbour disputes, and general maintenance, etc. which all contribute to my residential block being a nice place to live.
